Global Fest 2008

Friday Night Bryan, Ranger Lee and I went to watch the fireworks at global fest. It was Canada's night, and they did pretty good. It was about 20 minutes of fireworks set to different songs. And it was cool seeing them on the water. Aside from all the waiting for it to start and the slopping hill we were laying on, which our sleeping bags kept sliding down, it was a good night. Here are some pictures of while we were bored waiting as well as the fire works.

Hunting for Presents!!

Last night we celebrated Ranger Lee's Birthday the usual. Dinner, present hunt, then cake. Lucky for Ranger Lee I was in charge of getting the cake. So that would be why its pink ranbowish' and girly. But in my defence their was really not much else to choose from, it was either the ranbowy cake or a super star cake :) . He got a laptop and a computer game. All in all it was a good night.

Moving in pIctures

We've been in our house for a little over a week now and love it. For the first week we didn't have any furniture yet, but it arrived on saturday so now we have most everything we need for now. It's not decorated but that will slowly come over the months.

Moving In !!

After 6 long months of waiting for our house to be ready finally we got possesion. And it was only long because of all the touble we've had with our builder and getting our mortage. Thankfully after terminating our previous mortage broker for having our mortage open for 6 months and not getting us anywhere. We moved onto a diff person and he was able to get us the mortage rate we wanted in a weeks time. However even then we still had a little touble on our possesion date when we went to sign with the lawyers. I had gotten a quote of 800.00 for the lawyers fee to sign the papers. When we went to go sign the lady had said she made a mistake and it was $14,000.00 we owed. Our jaws dropped. But i guess what had happened was jayman didnt give them the right amount we owed we had paid an extra couple thousand 1 week before signing. Plus someone at our Bank put in our mortage wrong, they didnt include the CMHC fees we had to pay which was like $11,000.00. So all that day we were on the phones with the lawyers and the banks trying to get more money lent to us. But it all worked out. And we were able to take possession 1 day late. Aside from that we ran into another problem. We wanted to rent out the house for a year then move in after a year so we could save some more money. But when our builders sales rep heard she called me and rudely told me we couldnt or she would sick her lawyers on us. Apparently the government gives all new home owners 1% off the 5% GST as a rebate. And Jayman Homes gave us that money off up-front rather than us applying to the government for it. So we would have to pay Jayman that extra $5,000.00 up front or else she told me she would have her lawyers after us. So that ruined that. But it's okay we LOVE our home. Here are a couple pictures.

Highlights from Camping!!

Last weekend Bryan, Ranger Lee and I went up to the Kananaskis to meet mom and dad for the weekend. It was lots of fun. And of course the Hot Water Bottle Incident of 08' happened. The first night Bryan and I had our bed all made up. ANd mom had two hot water bottles and she wanted me to take one and put it in our bed to warm it up. So I did.. then when Bryan and I got into bed Bryan didn't know the water bottle was on his side and he leaned on it with his elbow and it popped all over our bed. It got both sleeping bags, our blankets and our mattress. So we have to flip the mattress, put extra air mattresses down on to of our bottom sleeping bag. Then We had this small campfire blanket for us to share. Then we put a tarp over us then put the wet blankets on top of that. SO it was an experience to say the least. Surprizinly we were pretty warm. Saterday we all went for a hike. None of us made it all the way to the top. Dad and Ranger Lee got pretty close. Mom and I were way behinde the boys. So Bryan stopped and waited for us. The we fed some chipmunks and they would come right onto our hands, back, laps. They would stuff the nuts in there cheeks. Then when they got full they would leave and empty then come back for more. Then We put the almonds in between our teeth and the chipmunks came right up and took it from our teeth. It was Fun. Over All it was a good trip. On our last day we had a picnic in the rain. It was interesting. Here are some pics
