A couple weekends ago Ranger Lee, Gabriela, Bryan and I went camping to the Kananaskis for the weekend. We camped in the Elkwood campground. Which was nice since it has showers and flush toilets right in the loop we stayed in. The weather was soo nice.. it was so hot all weekend.. pretty much in the high twenties - thirties all weekend. Friday we set up camp ( well Ranger Lee & Gabriela went up earlier so really they set up camp). We had a meat, veggies, and potatoes in tin foil, cooked in the fire.. which turned out really good. We went to the amphitheatre all the nights we were there. We found out that all these years of growing up and going to the Bolton amphitheatre we`ve been jipped.. since the Elkwood amphitheatre is wayyy better. Unfortunately most the shows were not terribly funny, but they were still good. Saturday we went for a walk to this secluded lake - marl lake, then waited for Clayton, Tasha, the kids, Mom, Dad to come up, and we all went to lower lake. Played in the water for a bit. .. some of us played in the water for longer (Gabriela- she was right in the freezing water swimming around) After the lake we had some dinner. Clayton & Tasha went home shortly after dinner, so we all just hung out around the fire.. played this new game Mom had bought called ``Whats yours like`` . . . It`s actually a pretty fun game.. goes kinda slow since people need to try and think of what to say.. but funny too. Sunday we hung out, went to Upper Lake for a short hike to the Water Falls.... went back to Marl Lake to go swimming.. till we got there and realized there were leaches in the water.. instead we just tried to catch the leaches and look at all the ugly bugs in the water. Monday we packed up.. went to upper lake to feed some chipmunks.. then came home. It was a nice little camping trip.. and definitely a nice short get away.

Friday July 10th we spent the afternoon at the Stampede. It was pretty crowded and very hott. Thank goodness there was no rain though.. every other day of stampede seemed to have rained at least once each day.. but not Friday. Mostly we just walked around.. looked through the round-up center at all the different exhibits. We had some mini donuts, and corn dogs - which are a must at stampede :) That night we went to the Kenny Chesney concert. It was really good, and our seats were good too. Some people were getting kinda crazy there.. luckily none we by us haha. After the concert we watched some of the fire works.. took some pictures.. got some mini donuts for the road. And headed out of there before the huge rush.
